Route description

Tim writes (29/06/2020): Looking back on these pictures from 7 years ago is wonderful.

Whins Brow trig point sits to the east of The Trough of Bowland, from the cattle grid on the top.  The route starts and finishes on the Trough road and you ascend along the track by 'Trough Barn'.

After passing 'Trough House' - another sheep hut, the fells open up, and the track becomes a little steeper.  Usually we continue along the track and descend down 'Ouster Rake (Path)' but today we followed the fence posts to the trig point at 476 metres.

From here, the route descends back down to the Trough , and you join at the highest point of the road.  Follow the road back down for a little while and you'll soon meet the start point.
