This Pendle Hill walk starts at Barley rather than the most traditional walk route which starts near the foot of the steps on Barley Lane.
The route takes you up by reservoirs and woods before ascending the fell via Ogden Hill. It gets steep for a little while here but the views of eastern Lancashire open up and it's well worth it. Once you reach the top any Pendle Hill walk comes into its own, the views across Lancashire and beyond are spectacular weather permitting.
You then follow the steps back down the fell onto Barley Lane to take an easy stroll back to Barley, where there's a couple of pubs and a picnic site.
