Langden & Haredon
Langden & Haredon Valleys are situated on the Trough Road along the famous Trough of Bowland. The route follows the Trough of Bowland, Langden Brook and then onto the fells at Haredon. The paths and fells are generally easy going but you'll have to cross brook by the castle (ruin).
We think that this circular walk takes in some of the most scenic views in Lancashire and beyond, although we may be a little biased.
Pendle Witches Way
Historically it is said the track along Langden Brook was used to bring the Pendle Witches over from Lancaster. They are said to have stayed at Langden Castle, which is nothing like a castle, more of a shelter used by the land keepers. There is a now a long distance walk from Lancaster to Clitheroe known as Pendle Witches Way.
