Hodder Bank Fell overlooks Dunsop Bridge which is where we start and finish the walk. There is a car park and some other spaces in Dunsop Bridge which is an interesting place itself. It happens to be the nearest village to the geographical centre of the United Kingdom. (It's actually 4 miles up the road at Whitendale Hanging Stones) . In 1992 BT's 100,000th phone box was installed here with a special message on a plaque from the Queen.
Today Tim, Matt and Jack head out on a fairly hot summer's day and took a generally easy walk up to Hodder Bank Fell, which, as the name suggests sits on the bank of the River Hodder. Once on top of the fell the ground is typical Forest of Bowland peat land but today the ground was dry and easy to walk on. As always with Bowland, be prepared for a muddy day if it has been raining.
